About We Rock the Spectrum El Paso

Our names are Martin and Andrea Morales. We have two children, Isaac and Ruth. Our first-born Isaac is under the Spectrum. This journey brought to our entire family to get the knowledge of what is Autism and have the sympathy for other families that are going through the same hard times and experiences with their kiddos on the spectrum. It has helped us understand the tears falling from the parents’ eyes when their babies are going through a hard moment, and also understand the joy of seeing goals achieved, because of all the efforts invested, all the stress, and all the time waited to see the results. When we noticed for the first time that something was different with our son, it was shocking, but at the same time nothing worried us at the moment, until the journey started. It has been hard and intriguing of what was going to come, and what Autism meant. It was nothing compared to what we have learned now. We have been looking tremendously between El Paso, TX and Juarez, Mexico and other cities for activities, therapies, doctors, and tons of safe places for our son. We found some good places, but nothing to have fun and feel safe at the same time, and without us always have to apologize and say “I am sorry, our son has autism”. Nothing for Isaac to just be free, run, and explore without us being worried for his safety and apologize for whatever he has done, that for others is “not normal”. We do not believe in casualties; we believe in purposes. We know that this wonderful place is so needed for tons of kids and families in El Paso and Juarez. We are excited to open the door that hasn’t been opened before for us and many other families. We are sure this will provide so much joy to a lot of families, and we are so excited to share that happiness and excitement with them. We look forward to bring the community together, always have ‘Inclusion’ as part of our culture. Let’s ROCK all together!
